It is impossible to recommend any one restaurant we have so many favourite’s. Eating out here is such a pleasure & you will be greeted with such a friendly welcome everywhere. Most of the waiters have excellent English & are more than willing to explain dishes & help with choices. Kalkan is surrounded by fertile agricultural areas & we certainly benefit from the fresh, quality produce used in cooking. A 3 course meal for two will cost approx. £40 but it is possible to eat well for much less. Many of the cafes are happy to serve drinks only & there are a selection of these situated where `people watching’ is a very pleasant pastime & an excellent way of winding down and meeting locals & other holiday makers. Music is very important in Turkish life & you must try to visit one of the café bars playing live Turkish music - always popular with locals & guests alike, & perhaps try the national aniseed flavour drink of Raki - not for the faint hearted. For something a little noisier, brighter, more cosmopolitan, there is a small choice of dancing bars playing modern music. One of the best things about these bars is that every one is welcome, there is no `ageism’, just a good mix of people enjoying the music & the night. As with all places in Kalkan, they are open till the last guest leaves.
